Well.... this is me! Currently living in NYC, but originally from
Brazil. I am totally crazy about Maso's work.. I can feel her passion,
the pain, the struggle with every single word, punctuation, sentence...
I came to know about her by accident, like the majority of thing in this
life, one day, browsing through the library shelves, and saw "The American
Woman in The Chinese Hat" and thought it was an interesting title and decided
to give it a try... after the first sentence, I was hooked! I read
the whole book that same day, and went to look for her stuff in the book
store. However, I didn't have much luck, and one of the store's clerk
told me he could order me one, but it would take a couple of weeks
until they got it. So, dreaming about her words, I headed to New
York City (which I live pretty close to…;))), to this bookstore called
A Different Light ( great book store, by the way!) and just as I expected,
they had all of her books.. I have to say I had a bit of trouble
with The Ghost Dance and AVA, for the whole sentimental context… My feeling
kept getting mixed up and I had to stop several times, to analyze
it. And after those were read, I went in search of more of her stuff,
but found very little. So, if anyone has anything by her that is not included
